Hey, I’m Shane! The guy who’ll be directing your wedding videos! If you had asked me a year ago what I’d be doing now, this would NOT have been on my radar, not even close. A year ago, I was (and still am) in the military, working a civilian job on base. Honestly, my schedule was pretty boring: wake up at 5 AM, hit the gym, work 8 to 5, then go home. Rinse and repeat.
But the longer I stayed in that job, the more frustrated I got with how little freedom I had. I’ve always had this huge interest in entrepreneurship, but I just didn’t know where to start. Then, I met my amazing wife, Desiree. Des had been running her own photography business for TWO YEARS before we even met. I’d go with her on shoots when I could, and we’d travel together when time allowed.
Then one day, she casually drops this bomb—what if I joined her and helped expand her brand, while also starting my own business? I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I dove into prayer and really asked God to show me if this was the direction I should go in.
That’s when I decided to do something crazy: a 5-day water-only fast (I definitely don’t recommend that without proper prep, by the way). I was starving, but I was desperate for clarity. And after FIVE DAYS of being ridiculously hungry, I had the most vivid dream of me quitting my job. I woke up, and I just knew. A couple of days later? I did it. I quit.
When it comes to documentary-style videography, I’m not here to create a generic slideshow of moments. My approach is all about capturing the raw emotion, genuine interactions, and the true energy of your day. I believe your video should reflect exactly what your day looked like and, more importantly, what it felt like. From the laughter to the tears, the excitement to the quiet moments, I aim to tell your story with authenticity and depth. I don’t believe in staging moments or forcing reactions; instead, I focus on real, unscripted moments that bring out the heart of the day. Whether it's the intimate conversations or the loud cheers of celebration, every moment will be woven into a compelling, emotional narrative that reflects your unique experience—no filters, no fluff, just the real, beautiful story of your day.
